Blocking A Member

Blocking lets you stop another member from messaging you, making offers on your gear, or buying from you. It's there for the rare member you'd rather not deal with, whether that's someone who keeps sending lowball offers or someone who isn't respectful in messages.

What Blocking Does

Once you block a member, neither of you can:

Message each other, including replies in a conversation you already had
Make offers on each other's gear, or counter an offer that was already open
Buy each other's gear, whether through Buy Now, the cart, or an accepted offer

The block works in both directions. You won't be able to reach them either, so you can't accidentally start a new conversation with someone you've blocked.

Any offer that was still awaiting a response between the two of you is closed the moment you block. An offer that had already been accepted is not cancelled, but checkout for it will be refused, and it will expire on its own after 48 hours.

What Blocking Doesn't Do

It doesn't hide their listings from you, or yours from them. You can still see each other's gear, you just can't transact.
It doesn't affect orders that are already in progress. An order that was placed before the block continues as normal, including shipping, reviews, and payouts. See Cancellations & Refunds if there's a problem with an existing order.
It doesn't delete your conversation. You can still read the messages you already exchanged.
It doesn't notify the other member. If they try to message, offer, or buy from you, they'll simply see that you aren't accepting messages, offers, or purchases from them.

How To Block A Member

You can block from two places:

Their member profile: scroll to the About section and choose Block this member.
A conversation with them: choose Block at the top of the thread.

You'll be asked to confirm before the block takes effect.

How To Unblock A Member

Every member you've blocked is listed under Settings > Blocked Members, where you can unblock them at any time. You can also unblock from their profile or from your conversation with them. Once unblocked, you can message, offer, and buy from each other again.

When To Contact Us Instead

Blocking is a personal tool. If a member is scamming, harassing, impersonating Paintball Vault, or otherwise violating our Code of Conduct, please also contact us so we can review the account. Blocking protects you; a report protects everyone.

The official Paintball Vault account can't be blocked, since that's how our team reaches you about your orders, listings, and account.
